Here at the Exposure Photography Gallery we aim to provide a space for photographic artists and people of all abilities to immerse themselves in the world of the still image.
We try not to define photography, but encourage the individual to define photography for themselves, by creating an environment that artists both professional and amateur can work and collaborate.
To facilitate the varying amount of abilities and tastes, we will be offering a range of monthly activities and events at the gallery.
Group Crit Evenings
A relaxing time at the gallery immersing oneself in the world of photography. These sessions are designed so people can get together, meet and show their research and work from the past month. gaining constructive criticism from peers and professionals on individual’s current projects and portfolios.
We are not interested in seeing the best photographs you have made to date, these sessions are for the review of current projects and work, and are a way of developing ones’ practice and image making.
All are welcome and all will have a voice, however booking is required as space and time restraints limit group sessions to ten people. If, however there is more interest we will be opening up another slot through the month to accommodate everyone. Sessions are £5, free tea, coffee and biscuits are available.
Regular visits from professionals and artists in the industry and photographic art world to talk and lecture on techniques, practice, motivations, and process.
Spend insightful evenings listening to some of the best in the photographic art world. Prices and locations for these events will vary.
Visits and workshops by photographic practitioners that use specialist techniques and methods long forgotten, like wet plating and cyanotyping, among Other things. Again prices and availability for these specialist workshops will vary.
